To be honest , i never liked Babarian/Death sword... Sure , your version is very faithfull to the Apple II version but come on , the Genesis can show 64 colors out of 512 colors ! Plus it uses one button just like every Amiga/Atari ST game , this game could use all the 3 buttons. (One button for jumping , one for attacking and etc...) It's not bad but it could be improved , i wished you used the Amiga graphics And for the Sega CD version , you could use CD audio tracks with cdplay & cdplay2. (Look at the doc for more details) I was so disappointed when i realised that your version of Crazy Cars for Sega CD had no CD audio. I had to take the source code and do it myself by just adding one line. Well that's my opinion , i'm 18 so i never knew this game back in the day. Can't wait for the source code !

fl appears to prefer making conversions as opposed to remakes. I would also be interested in seeing the source. My own coding style needs to be improved so I'd appreciate a chance to compare. Also, if blabla could post an example with CD audio that'd be great! I'd like to see more examples using BEX and CD features.
As a side I see Pro Boards has inserted an advertisement to vote of them. I've got mixed feelings about that. I appreciate the free hosting but since there's no good way to back up the BEX forum it'll all be lost someday.

hello i will give you the source in some days, when i will finish the demo. the second scenary (throne) is soon finished. i hope you will understand my coding (exept blabla), because all the values are in french ;D the codes are the same than the QB64 realease, but adapted to the BEX functions and with gfx in data. the source has 34.300 lines for the moment with only 2 scenary of 4 if you want to see the code of the "barbarian engine" in qb64, go see here : www.dropbox.com/s/9at5kg0pfilelqs/engineQB64.zip

hello i have added the second scenary : now, i have to do the 1 player mode, and the two scenary and here is the source in attachement. if someone want to do a segaCD version like C64 it's easy to change the colors of the players. you can add the music with the cd tracks if you want all the ressources of all the barbarian version, go here : barbarian.1987.free.fr/download/download.htmbye F.L Attachments:

... now, i have to do the 1 player mode, and the two scenary and here is the source in attachement. Thank you ! Once you'll release the source code of the full version , i will work on an improved Sega CD version. I am so excited by this project ! The picture shown here is loaded from the CD. A direct conversion for Sega CD is not possible because his game is more than 256 kb so the only way is to load the tiles from the CD. If this project succeed , fl will be rich ! (and even more when he will release his outrun conversion for Genesis !) Fl , one thing... For graphics & sprites , export to BINARY instead of BASIC. Convert your image and export the data to Binary. Then load it like this : tiles_TITLESCREEN : datafile tiles_titlescreen.bin,BIN Your code will look cleaner and will be much smaller ! (I need this for the Sega CD port as well)

i can't export to binary with my imagenesisbeta program. a file is missing ? can you give me a bette version of imagenesis ? You must be using an old version , download the latest version. devster.monkeeh.com/sega/imagenesis/imagenesis4000beta.zipFor converting sprites , select Drawing in the Y direction first. Then click on Enable Transparency and click on Select transparency color and then you must click on the color you want to be transparent. (You must do this each time you open an image) For converting tiles & backgrounds , select Drawing in the X direction first. Once you're done , click on Quantze Now. Then export Tile data and export the data to binary. If you're using SGTD for sprites , you can also do that. devster.monkeeh.com/sega/sgtd/sgtd051beta_setup.exeMake sure you have downloaded the latest version.
