i already found some bugs in the fm driver (there's a problem with the delays between notes). a new beta release should come out shortly, with updates to the driver and tracker. i've also optimized the fm driver source again, and got it down to 179 bytes !
edit: oh, and channels 4-6 in the driver don't key on either x.x!

okay, here are updates and additions to the fm driver: - channels 4-6 work - tempo can be set and controlled - fminc.inc can be copied to the basiegaxorz slibrary directory to be used in basiegaxorz - a basiegaxorz test program has been added =P download the updates+additions at: devster.monkeeh.com/sega/devsternoisemachine/noisemachine_beta1additions.zipand extract the files in the current noise machine beta directory if you're using basiegaxorz, all you need to do is copy fminc.inc and fmz187.bin to the slibrary directory. when compiling a program, make sure "compile under source directory....." is selected in options, so that the compiler is able to see your external instruments and music files a new tracker program hasn't been released yet btw: when compiling with snasm, all you need to do in the command line is: snasm68k -p fmtest.asm,fmtest.bin you might also need to increase the tempo to about 32 in the tracker program before building your music with the new fm driver

the option is there. all it does is while the compiler is compiling your source code, any references to external files will be serached within the same directory as the source code.
another option is to put your instruments, source code, and music data into the same directory as the compiler
