Wow, you have the source code? Not a disassembly of 68k code? It's a cool project to revisit the XBand . I think XBand was a dial-up service, and I don't want to tie up my phone lines

IIRC, there was a similar project for the Dreamcast - using a "phone line simulator" (basically, a hacked phone cable with a 9V battery and a couple of resistors) for linking the DC modem with a PC modem, and that PC was running some custom Win32 server app, so it's feasible - most of us have useless Winmodems on cheap laptops, and i still have a 14.4K modem ready for some action I can't remember if it was for PSO or some other DC game, or if it was a hack for LAN games, or whatever, but it shows that Ma Bell tentacles are not needed for this class of hacks...

Well, ive got some source code, not the entire thing. what i have is basically the info on how to convert a production modem into a dev modem where you can install a parallel port to the modem and then control it via a debugger on the pc and load game patches to it to allow communication between two modems.. this is for the genesis version
for the snes version me and 2 other guys have managed to figure out how to change the number the snes xband modem dials for the server and are able to put it into a state where you wait for a call from the server for tech diagnosis. however we have no way of really figuring out what commands are allowed and in what language exactly. supposedly its a modified version of appletalk
