Wow! That was great Devster! For your proposition, I really would go for Flash cart for they have bigger memory. You see games like Tempo and Star Wars 32x have pretty nice music for they can store larger audio files with larger memory. As you already may have noted, I care a lot for sound, and more memory can give me better music ('cause I can store more audio samples') On other hand would love to test my game in the real hardware during development, so with flash cart a flash recorder would be really apreciated... ;D Dispite of that, I loved the idea, those are my simple suggestions and I will not complain if you are agains't them. ahhh, ebay =P i think i saw that quantity 120 flash chips for $40. lots of electronics stuff on ebay are either 1) people found reject parts from some company's dumpster (companies produce LOTS of failed semiconductors, believe me, i have oodles of those =P), 2) ripped off from a company, 3) pulls. ebay is good to save lots of money, but i'd only use it for prototyping, not for actual production
for flash carts, i'd just go for the tototek carts =P

You Might Be Better off creating for SCD so the games are playable to users that don't have a genny but a computer that has an ASPI Driver and KEGA or Gens (or a SCD Compatable Emulator)
Plus Just by a 100 pack of CD-R's It Might cost less than 20 USD
and totally great for memory. Usually you can fit 800mb or 600mb on a CD-R.

the idea was for cartridges, not cd's
reasons:
1) anyone can make a cd 2) not everyone has a sega cd

But they have a Windows 95 or above for Kega ASPI and SCD Bios!
and for PAL people use Mask of destiny's ConvSCD or SCDconv!
for audio use CD MAGE (Forgot the Site, Check Google)
but you got me with the Anyone can create an SCD
