Runtime error 53: File not found
It could happen due to a missing DLL that was attempted to load at run-time, or to a missing file that was attempteed to access with Open or Kill.
BEX bug or missing DLL?

Hi, I'm Paolo and I'm an experienced C++ coder. I'm having the same problem under my Xp... i've tried both the 019 suite and the newer beta.. but all of them let me compile correctly my simple first "print" command but when i try to assemble it gives me error 53.. print statement not found, file not found.. have a nice day.. and the gui crashes. Let's say I've downloaded the snasm68k for xp... tried to set all the compatibilities for make it look like running onto the primitive win95 but does not work.. HELP!! I've just bought a nomad and I want to add everithing out of a flash cartridge! I'm planning bootstart programs with hardcoding of an usb port to make it appear as a device... c'mon let my dreams become true, let me know how to make the assembler work on the basiegaxorz!!!! ^____^

REMEMBER: EVERY COMMAND must be prefixed by a TAB or an SPACE, or they will NEVER compile Classic BEX n00b mistake #1 Windows 95 should work, provided that you have: - the VB6 runtimes (at the very least, MSVBVM60.dll) - MSVCRT.DLL (install Office or get a copy from any Win98+ machine) - a CPU enough fast for run an emulator (a 386/486 will not work, but at least BEX compiler will work there )

no truly, it's no noob mistake, if you miss the space it won't compile either, while to us it compiles (F5) but crashes on assembling (F6), and I provided the snasm correct for the os for the pc speed there are no prob, I run flickerless Halflife2 hi-res vb6 sdk are installed, since I developed some shitty nmea interface for winCE emulator and I got to install all the visual studio basic.. c++ express studio was already installed... java sdk installed.. ;D8-) and hmm.. flash9 mysql php apache directx whatever module updated to latest version I think there is some file missing... I also downloaded some of the ocx mentioned and registered them... but always the same error on the simple command print "hello" anyway, since I can stop after compiling and load my basic.bin into the emulator... why is assembling necessary for? it produces some win executable???

when you push the compile button, the program will generate assembler code form your basic file, and then will run the assembler for you on top of that. the compiled file can be played on emulators, and will run on the real hardware the assemble button is there only for assembly language files , eg: if you coded pure assembly language using basiegaxorz for some reason (because it can be used as a cool assembly language ide for 68k)

Then I push the "run emulator" button, nothing run. Do I need to do something before push "run emulator" button?

makes this: Go to "Tools" => "Options" (or press F7) => "Path Options" and in the border "Emulator Path" places the shortcut of emulator.
Sorry my bad english, and good luck in your coding.

Thank you, but since I looke at the path option, the emulator is called "genecyst.exe". however, I can not find it in BasiEgaXorz folder. Do you have any idea where can I find it ? or download it? or can use another emulator instead of?

Indeed, you MUST supply you own emulator ;D
Simply click the button "emulator" on Settings window, browse to the emulator folder, select it, and you're done!
