Alien Soldier never got released physically in the US and was only available to Americans through the Sega channel. I have a copy of a "complete rom set" for the Genesis/Mega Drive and noticed that it only contains the European and Japanese versions of the game. I've seen supposed US versions of the rom, and I question their legitimacy since I don't think anyone tried dumping a rom from the internal ram of the genesis (where Sega Channel games were temporarily stored). I also doubt the publisher Treasure would release the US rom anyway.
I'm asking this because I'd like to have the best possible version of Alien Soldier when I make a reproduction of it. I can't use the European version because it was optimized for 50hz. I guess I could use the Jap version, but it has a lot of broken English.

This is a very active community. Anyway, I figured out a way to patch the Japanese Alien Soldier rom so it works on American Genesises.

Oh I didn't even see this thread. The game wasn't released in the US, but you can change the header using GenRomSuite and it will play fine. Some games don't work at all due to using 320x240 (you'll get a rolling picture), or may run slow (Darxide, for example, as it was only released in PAL territories and optimized for such), but any Japanese game will play fine on US hardware (they're also NTSC/60Hz)
