Did anyone create a 3D game with the basic functions instead of ASM?

Did anyone create a 3D game with the basic functions instead of ASM? Not as far as i know .. although it depends a little on your definition of 3D* For instance, something like Ballz should be possible in BEX if you're careful enough. *The very first thing i created in BEX years ago could be considered 3D. Keep in mind that the MegaDrive only has a 7.67Mhz CPU .. so creating a 3D program / pipeline that the MegaDrive can churn through at a reasonable framerate is a challenge even when you're coding in assembly.

And what in combination with the Sega CD? Obviously i would need to learn alot, but something in the lines of Doom? I know the 32x can handle that after seeing this demo: www.youtube.com/watch?v=F96yVYxNWPIBut then again, these guys are really hardcore and my favourite defunct company. And being that good will never succeed in Basic. But i am just curious what we are looking at here.

And what in combination with the Sega CD? Same thing. BasiEgaXorz doesn't have any built-in commands / functions to take advantage of the SEGA CD co-processors.

What about the 32x? Does BasiEgaXorz support that?

What about the 32x? Does BasiEgaXorz support that? Sort of .. you can compile a 32X ROM and use the 32X VDP, but your program will still only run on the MegaDrive. For fully fledged 32X development devster made Wal-MARS X .. but that uses / requires SH-2 & 68K assembly ( instead of BASIC ).

So in your opinion, what games would be possible from this video All are possible .. but i suspect you'll only be able to achieve a acceptable framerate with a couple of them ( Ballz, Devil's Course, John Madden Football, Vectorman ). Of course you can easily remedy this using a bit of inline assembly for performance critical parts ... but in case you're keen on only using BASIC 100% exclusively, maybe 3D games for MegaDrive shouldn't be your field of work to begin with. How experienced are you developing 3D ( software ) engines anyway?

It was just a simple question. It would be foolish to start creating a 3D game which nobody actually has done properly. I am more keen on creating a game like Solar Jetman (nes) for the megadrive, as wel as a river city ransom "remake".
No experience on the 3D engines and not burning my hand into it. Just very curious how far one can push this software.

Alright, good I am more keen on creating a game like Solar Jetman (nes) for the megadrive, as wel as a river city ransom "remake". Those are definitely more feasible using only BASIC than something like Virtua Racing
