Are there any docs on how to dial out and send a bit to the megamodem? I've looked high and low, but can't find one.
Also, it's kinda difficult to find a megamodem, so how hard would it be to rip apart something like an old 9600 serial modem and wire it through the controller port and control it through there? The controller port is basically a serial interface, right? That would be sweet to make a modem and build a genesis game around it, like cyberball.

i think that hooking up a 9600 baud modem is a whole lot easier than trying to find a megamodem . i dunno what use a 9600 baud modem on your sega will do you, since there's not many things you can do with a 9600 baud modem these days (except maybe for some bbs, but that gets old) no software exists that will support an rs232 modem on the sega, so you're on your own for that (although making a terminal in basiegaxorz should be really easy). to hook up a serial modem to the joystick ports, or the extension port, you need to use something like the max233 or some other kind of voltage translator to translate the 5v signals to rs232 levels
