Hello, Is there anyone who can tell me how to change the color palette in NBA Live 96 or particularly Sega Genesis sports game. I wanna change to team colors to reflect the current team colors, but I don't know which utility will allow me to locate the colors for all the teams.
Is there a way to change the team colors without having to change the whole color palette?
Am I going about this the wrong way? Thanks.

It's quite hard, but NOT impossible.
There is a good resource to read about this kind of hacking that you can get at Eidolon's Inn... once that site goes online again (currently, it seems that the hosting went poof again).
Anyway, some hints:
- Gens KMod...

There is a lot of tools that you must use to change some colors on the palettes. In general, you could do something like this: Check in Gens KMod what palette you should modify. Then you will be able to export the palettes with DebuGens. With a hex editor, look the config of the colors, and then find them on the original ROM. Then, you can modify them with a nice tool like PalEd from Erik JS (I really don't remember where I downloaded it). Just try to do some research by yourself, don't be so lazy.

Well,
I use GenK Mod...and I dump CRAM and VRAm in the Debug mode.
I can get the Teams bmp file and make changes in Photoshop, but I can't find the changes when I do comparisons in Hex Workshop.
Btw, I've been on two other boards including romhacking.net asking away but still no success. The only ones who I see were successful were the guys at NHL94.com. And still I can't recognize the team home and away colors from their example for the Rom they use.
Believe me I've been trying to find the "individual"team color palettes location since last year.
I'm really hellbent on changing colors before I update this rom...

ScroGer, If I can edit this game as I did before two years ago..then the answer is yes. New Wizards, Golden State, and Cleveland Uni's.. A man can only dream.

Look, I just will give you one clue: the offset $16B6DA. Here is stored the colors of the Toronto Raptors. Open this offset whit PalEd (find it on the web), and each +/- $80 bytes you will find another team palette. Is easy to see what palette are from teams because the colors 2-7 are ever the same (the skin colors). The remainder will have to learn yourself.
