I'm thinking of getting a real genesis w/sega cd and i have a question:
I figured out how to compile basiegaxorz game as a sega cd, the image loads perfectly in an emulator.
If i burn the image of my homemade game onto a cd-r, can the sega cd play it without mod chips or other stuff? If home development of sega games is that simple with a sega cd system, i might go for it.

Yes, a real SEGA CD doesn't need mod chips or anything. If you make the CD image correctly, it'll play off a CDR just fine. I've run the test for the SEGA Loader via CDR and it works fine with my real SEGA CD. If you need more assurance, maybe you could post a link to the game so some of us could try it.

As long as you don't use a CD-RW (most CD drives can't read these), and if you use high quality media (Verbatim, Maxell, hell, even Princo is good), you should not have problems to run your creations in the real thing.
