I got this cool FM radio on-a-chip thing, and I'm planning to make a circuit for it.. is there any way to use BASIC to control it, with the following in mind? www.spritesmind.net/_GenDev/forum/viewtopic.php?t=197it has a basic structure, but I don't know if it'll interfear with the ROM chip, as it also seems to need to occupy address lines... (makes no sense, why would it need address lines? )

I have never seen an FM radio IC with a remotely similar pinout. However, assuming the pinout is close to correct, A1-A3 are almost certainly control lines for buttons (maybe channel up, down, seek), and D1-D3 are almost certainly a 3-line serial connect (serial clock, serial in, serial out). Without a datasheet to provide more info, good luck on trying to figure out enough to make it work.

i've never seen an ic like that either =o
if you want to interface it to the genesis, you'll need to make some kind of input-output interface circuit (consisting maybe of data latches + buffers + address decoding), and then use basic's peek and poke commands
