What combination of tools would make a good transition from BEX to C?
I'm talking an editor that matches BEX in ease of use/features.
Perhaps we could do something like the BEX Suite of old to set up SGDK and a development environment + tools.

What combination of tools would make a good transition from BEX to C? There's no single installer solution ( afaik ) for SGDK. The easiest way to get started is to follow either the Eclipse or Code::Blocks configuration tutorial. Only takes a couple of minutes. Perhaps we could do something like the BEX Suite of old to set up SGDK and a development environment + tools. Your best bet for something like this is to pack a simple portable pre-configured C IDE ( no idea which one though ) with a 68000 compiler and SGDK. Or write a IDE yourself obviously

I can do the installer no prob. I was hoping some of the people that have transitioned to C would either contribute the steps to recreate their preferred setup or perhaps share their dev folders outright. Then I could create the installer that sets up any other dependencies and creates the Start menu shortcuts.

All you need to do is download either code::blocks or eclipse and then follow the tutorial there are no additional dependencies and there already is a start menu shortcut created when downloading the IDE installer.

Yeah. That seems to be my next step. I wasn't really looking for how to do it for myself. I was looking for advice on what would work best for those making the transition.
I had hoped to get advice from those who made the transition from BEX to C. If a SGDK suite was around when they first started using C what IDE, utilities and other things would be present?
