my site is broken again You should try Godaddy. Their site control panel is overly cluttered and spammy, but I haven't had any downtime in the 3+ years I've used them. They also give you a free 1000 MB / 100 GB hosting plan when you buy the 3 year domain name thing from them.

GoDaddy? I've heard so many horror tales about their crappy service (specially on domains), that you should keep far, FAR away from them.
(at least Slashdot crowd says that... YMMV)

"Hoppsan! Google Chrome hittade inte monkeeh.com" It's a 'cannot find dns' error. Could you provide the IP for monkeeh?

I'll check out godaddy. I do not like shared hosting - I started hosting the main website on a shared host not too long ago, and it's shit . There are 1000's of different hosting companies, and I picked the worst one though (you always get what you pay for though) The new place I'm going to host the main site is costing me $100 / 2 years. It's not a shared host either, so I can migrate the forums as well. I just haven't moved anything yet Tom, you're using a new host, so what should I do with your stuff? I think you tried to do something with your htaccess thing to redirect, but it doesn't work There is no IP because the IP is shared

Just leave them there. I dropped a mod_rewrite rule on my htaccess for redirecting all URLs (for not breaking Google links and whatnot - too many links posted anywhere), and it's working nicely, so far (for example, tomman.monkeeh.com/* now redirects to mi.tsdx.net.ve/* for almost everything) But i will keep the space, as a backup place - in a emergency, i just comment the mod_rewrite rules, and that place comes back. *runs to CPanel for doing a backup*Since you got a dedicated server, i suppose that you got unlimited traffic and truckloads of HD... $100/2Y, not bad Now, i'm going back to fight with my ISP - this DSL has been shitty since the last two weeks

If you just need to redirect tomman.monkeeh.com, then you don't need an account . Yeah, since you are going to still use it, I will give you an account. It's not unlimited . There's pretty much no such thing as unlimited , but talking about the bandwidth.... okay, it's pretty close to unlimited for the stuff I do I'm having problems with the DNS with the current server (the $1/month host) too, so it's not always your ISP. If you have problems with google, then yea, your ISP ripped you off

And I have the most crappiest ISP ever existed! They're still running on dial-up connections!

I miss the sound of my ancient Motorola 56K Not-a-Modem, connecting at 28K... Ah, these were the ages, downloading illegal ROMz at 0.9KB/s from some weird Russian site... homebrew was nearly non-existant (save for a couple of boring Asteroid/SF clones), and we were still using IE5 and Fatscape 4.5 on WinMe... 3G cellphones are technically dial-up, but without the noises, they're just fake modems

And i have "Huwaei Mobile connect" (made in China) which looks somewhat like a Bluetooth USB adaptor, but with an 3G antenna instead. Some months ago, it broke without reason, but now I've got it fixed.

Back to Internet failures, use this neat gizmo to check your connection: netalyzr.icsi.berkeley.edu/I've discovered that, while DNS is not the big problem here, my DSL has way too much buffering... and, coupled to a suboptimal uplink, it leads to extremely long page load times Even opening ONE page in Firefox is way too much effort! "Time to switch ISPs" is a phrase that does not apply - i have no other choices. You can always start your own ISP That way you can have the fastest internet in your country paid by your slaves.. er customers and give them a connection slightly better than the competition.

The universal solution for ANY ISP problem is simple (according with 99% of the ISPs): "Power-cycle your modem"

That always work for me...not.
