everyone knows the routine already, with more releases, more bugs come out =). while developing the new SGTD tile exporting feature to ImaGenesis 4000, I discovered that SGTD doesn't load tile sets like it should, and any tile set that carries four or more 8x8 tiles will crash the application (four 8x8 tiles equals one 16x16 tile btw). There's no way to go around this bug for users, except for manually adding the correct number of tiles, and then loading the tile set.
I'll surely release the next version of SGTD soon. here are other bugs that i've found, and other new features to be included in the next SGTD:
- Fixed a bug in binary exporting - Added a feature to allow exporting to .tle format tiles to be used in Kaneda's map maker! - Reduced the number of pallettes from 8 to 4 - Fixed a major bug in loading tile sets - Fixed a bug that messes up the status bar when browsing through tiles - Fixed a bug when the user holds the mouse down while browsing through tiles - When loading or saving, the application will indicate the percentage of how much data has been processed - Changed tile browser scroller to scroll on a larger range

Warning: You have listed the 0.51 release of SGTD on the site, yet you have not actually made it available for download. People are going to want it due to the features it has. Please put it up.

I hope this comes soon because now that I can do animations I have a lot of sprites to make and there is no way to just fill the transparent parts of the tile this means that I have to manually fill that in and since I have 8 tricks with up to 4 animations each this become a bit of pain. Also when you export tiles in Binary most of the time there will be these fuck up black tiles on my tile image and there nothing i can do to get rid of them UNLESS I don't load the tiles using Datafile instead i have to insert the long as fuck basic equivalent.

He's under no obligation to do anything for anyone. You're not paying him, and he's not under contract. If you don't like it, write your own tools or buy a commercial app. When you're paying money, then you can flap your yap like in the last post.

Flap my yap huh how bout you go Fuck you're self And why are u here u don't use bex? Well if Devster wants anyone to use his tools and complier then maybe he would stop disappearing....Im sorry that Devster slaved over bex and its tools but BASIC pros don't want to use it and basic noobs don't have any TUTs to help them so what dose that leave about 5 people wow lol And yes after Im done with Skate I've been planing on using a commercial app called PlayBasic, Im sure most of u will be happy to see me gone yaa no more topics,no more TUTs,no more Demos, and no more enthusiasm for making Sega games in basic, well have fun ... I have my reasons for sticking with bex for as long as I have but this scene is lame a few of u guys are cool u know who u are but the rest of u can eat a DICK

Wow, you're a real douche bag. Your ego is only exceeded by your sense of entitlement. You don't need to worry about that new version... when oompa loompa sees this thread, he isn't going to post that new version, he's going to ban you.

nah, nobody gets banned i didn't know people used sgtd haha, i thought that by this time, there'd be much better tools . i read this post, but didn't follow up to it until now because the last time i worked on sgtd was in 2005, and i have no idea what changes i made to the source, or how stable it is. plus, i don't have a lot of time to do a lot, now, but i'll try my best. yesss, uhm, sgtd and bex are awesome what's going to happen is that i'll try to improve whatever i can, and then release a beta. not promising that a release will happen soon, but i'm going to start on it now, just for you guys

Hey Devster!
There may be better tools but nothing can top the experience of an authentic Devster Specialties software product.
That explain why I refresh this board at least 20 times every single day! Your software just rox.
Can't wait to finish Pier Solar and dive on BEX and put it to do the good work.

haha okay , thanks check out the SGTD page, i put up the 0.51 version (i think it's 0.51 haha, i haven't done anything with it since 2005). tell me if you guys see any bugs, or whatever. importing of tiles isn't implemented yet. you can use kaneda's map maker, along with this to make maps for levels devster.monkeeh.com/sega/sgtd/changes from 0.43 or 0.46: - Fixed a bug in binary exporting - Added a feature to allow exporting to .tle format tiles to be used in Kaneda's map maker! - Reduced the number of pallettes from 8 to 4 - Fixed a major bug in loading tile sets - Fixed a bug that messes up the status bar when browsing through tiles - Fixed a bug when the user holds the mouse down while browsing through tiles - When loading or saving, the application will indicate the percentage of how much data has been processed - Changed tile browser scroller to scroll on a larger range - Fixed a bug when inserting new tiles

Is it compatible with files created with earlier versions? Because trying to load some of my old files, I get this error:
Run-time error '5': Invalid procedure call or argument And in another, this:
Run-time error '380': Invalid property value

i uploaded a "fix" to sgtd. i dunno if this will fix the way your old tiles are loaded, but we'll see . don't use the import functions yet (especially import of palettes) devster.monkeeh.com/sega/sgtd/sgtd051_fix.zipdownload the zip, and replace the original exe with this one

Thank you so much oompa loompa ;D This update is very good It solves many problems!!!! A few bugs are still there tho most importantly is the problem with the transparency I still have to manually fill them in one by one. Keep up the great work and Im glad you're back ;D
