As an attempt to revigorate this great community I encourage everyone to list their ongoing projects.
I'll break the ice...
DeathBringer (DC) My current (and most near to completion) project. A full featured Dreamcast programming API written in hand-optimised assembly (90%) and C (10%) with speed in mind. Project was stalled since my dev DC needed a new GD unit but I got it back from repair yesterday. Initial release planned near end of summer.
Scythe (DC) Future project. A replacement BIOS for the Dreamcast with support for IDE devices (CD-ROM + hard-disk) and maybe even USB with the goal of transforming the Dreamcast into a PC. I will even go as far as fitting the DC innards in a micro ATX tower. ;D
No name yet (DC) Another current project which exists mostly on paper. A 3D scoller similar to Golden Axe with the goal of pushing the DC h/w to it's absolute limits! (bumpmapping + shadow for each light source). Ideally, I would need 3D and texture artists. Otherwise, I'll have to rely on my own (& poor) art skills. I may consider a commercial release.
KEII (DC) This is Yamato's (DCDEV list regular) baby's. I will help him port his project to GCC.
Tyris (32X) An idea for voxel landscape + Doom wall renderer for the 32X addon. Use the Genesis for reading joypads only. Once I get another 32X, I may try to hardwire a microcontroller to the 32X PCB in order to make it run as a standalone portable console. This project will probably be canned since I got my DC back. I'll release the link script which works with great with the real h/w.

Here's a link to my ongoing project. This game is based off the games drug wars and dope wars. It is being developed mainly for the Sega CD. I have included a DL link which contains a non-playable Genesis version. Don't be upset, I dont have a playable version yet. I am still trying to get the interface working. I can't wait till I can play 1 day successfully. Any help with this project is more than welcome. www.boostfile.com/view/1084/1492488958/hustla_dev1.zip.htmWorks Best With Kega Fusion

Well, my current projects are: Ultima 3 (Sega Master System): A port of Ultima 3 from PC to SMS. You can download a very preliminary version from www.smspower.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8575&sid=34c1e5182836ede22f60592c1d7868b8NanoWars (Sega Master System): A game inspired by an old Apple II game called Short Circuit. I don't have a demo version yet, but, if you want to know the game I'm taking inspiration from you can find it on this site: www.classicgaming.com/rotw/shortc.shtmlGemQuest 2.0 (Sega Genesis/Mega Drive): It is going to be a vastly improved version of GemQuest, a game that I had programmed for the PDRoms Coding Competition #3 ( www.pdroms.de/pdrc3-submissions.php). The original game was rushed in order to be ready before the deadline expired, and I didn't feel satisfied with the way it turned out. I intend to do some heavy fine-tuning on the ship's controls, add more and varied enemies, reducing the size of the playing field (I suppose it would get better with a smaller playing field), and adding some power-ups. Pong Kombat (Sega Genesis/Mega Drive): I'm also thinking about making a port of Gagne Software's Pong Kombat( pixelscapes.com/twoflower/pongkombat/) to the Sega Genesis.

I've been working on a few short techdemos before reaching this: Howl (Sega CD)A game about dogs. A mean chiuaua has kidnapped your friend, and it's your job to get your friend back! Navigate through 8 exciting levels, collecting bones and swiping those killer robot drones made by the mean chiuaua right off the map! Features brilliantly dithered images created using Ulead PhotoImpact and Devster ImaGenesis that look great in a blurred emulator or on a TV set! Also features many exciting secrets, exciting hand-drawn animated shorts between levels, and great techno music that really captures the mood of this dramatic game! Coming soon, only for the Sega CD! How's that for a promotion?

Thanks ScroGer, for your much appreciated praise! So far, I have most of the variables setup, and have the narcotics randomized nicely. I just have to complete the actual interface for buying, selling, transportation, and weapons dealing. When I'm done with the first release, it will be very much like dope/drug wars. Version 2, I would like to add light gun support options for the shoot outs, and a birds-eye view "a-la shadowrun" for the transportation and dealer interactions.
Unfortunately, my time has been limited for developing for the old genny. I'm a stay at home dad with three kids. Luckily my wife works for a large cell phone provider and makes good money. I recently picked up the highly prized Multi-Game Hunter on the cheap, which will allow me more free time in developing instead of burning cds continuously.
I also checked out your demos loved them both, very nice work! The flames in the bone demo reminded me very much of the flames in altered beast. I look forward in seeing what else you release!!!!!
haroldoop, I also checked out your demos. Ultima 3 is going to rock!!!!! Looks great, and I can't wait to see the final product.....

Indeed! I'm very happy! ;D Unfortunately, it seems that I can't get access to boostfile right now so I'm unable to download Scroger's and Fragheadfred's demos. I'll try again later. haroldoop, your Ultima 3 demo is great! It makes me remember just how much fun I had playing Ultima RPGs back then! Thanks Scroger! ;D It's very motivating to hear this! But as I told in my last post, this project is currently just a bunch of ideas thrown on paper so there is still a huge amount of work to be done. I'll work really hard in order to pull this one out though. Hi Devster, I'm eager to see what you're cooking up! BTW, I haven't forgotten about barracuda and I wish to thank you again for offering me hosting. Once I finish the html stuff that has been sitting on my hd, I'll upload everything asap! School and other misc things kept me _very_ occupied during the last months, but everything is slowly getting back to normal.

Version 2, I would like to add light gun support options for the shoot outs, and a birds-eye view "a-la shadowrun" for the transportation and dealer interactions Damn that sounds like my kind of game I was thinking of making something similar but I am limited to what type of game play I can do because's of my lack of knowlege in that field, but it's good to see that somthing similar that I envisioned is going to be made and probably done alot better...........And shit man light gun support wow that's cool I recently picked up the highly prized Multi-Game Hunter on the cheap, which will allow me more free time in developing instead of burning cds continuously. Cool, that should save you alot of time I also checked out your demos loved them both, very nice work! The flames in the bone demo reminded me very much of the flames in altered beast. I look forward in seeing what else you release!!!!! Thanks fragheadfred for you're your kind word's it tickled my ego lol but really thoe thank's for the support ;D ;D Also I encourage every one that release's a demo coded wit bex to include the source code's I know a lot of you are hesitant to do so but it's the best and fastest way to learn how to code something desent. But if you feel that you have to protect you're hard work then that of course is understandable... Sorry its be a while but my cpu is acting stupid at the worse possible time but it's fine now and I have more demos the first is Bone TT v 0.2 I understand some things alot more now, so I can start making what I want to and I have really steped up the graphic's this time in Bone TT v 0.2 ,next is Paralax Scrolling thats the same lol but I also included an old demo I made but it's still cool get them here files.filefront.com/BEXDemoszip/;5126294;;/fileinfo.htmlpmjobin I don't know why bostfile has be down but you can get my demo's at the link above fragheadfred you should try a different place that will host you're demo maybe you should try the one I'm using And it's good to hear from you oompa loompa I hope you stick around peace

Salut Fonzie!

pmjobin, would you mind translating your post so we could share with the whole forum?? Well well, its good to post here in forum. I had a lot of troubles in last months that kept me away from the internet (fonzie knows hehehe) anyway I am back and with a strong will to code a lot. My current projects are: Tavern RPG (Sega CD): An ambitious atempt to create a complete role-playing game in the best 2D style like Lunar. This project born in Eidolon's-inn forum and gathered a lot of talented people like Fonzie and others who are working in the project. It actualy is more than a game development. Instead we are creating a RPG Development Suite called Dreamcatcher wich is composed of a set of tools (item editor, map editor, script editor, etc) and the game engine. We have original story, music and graphics. TRPG shall become the biggest fan-made game ever made for Sega CD. GennyPong (MD): This was my game to the Metalix Summer/Winter development contest in 2004. Thanks to this game I met BasiEgaXorz and all of you. It is currently done but I plan to port the sound routines to FM. Just waiting for a final release of devster's FM driver and tracker. Not Named Side Scrolling Game (MD): Just a platform game. I developed it to test collision routines and map based drawing techniques to draw screen. It works fine! The development is paused waiting for the next verison of BasiEgaXorz since it shall include many features that will help a lot in complex programming (like multidimentional arrays, subs, functions, local variables, etc). Paralax Scrolling Demo (MD): It is just a demo that scroll screen background just like you see with your eyes in real life. It took me a lot of time to figure out the paralax formula myself but now it is fine. This routine is to be used in games with scrolling background (eg. Platform games). 99 Bottles of Beer (MD): Not a game, just a program to write that funny song 99 bottles of beer in the screen and get BasiEgaXorz listed in 99 bottles of beer website. When I started this development I decided to use all my knowledge and made it to use all planes, pallettes and sprites instead of just text. It was very fun. I plan to modify it to draw the screen using smart screen maps instead of dumb pre-defined loop routines. Maybe I missed something, then I post it later but for now that's it. Hope you guys and Devster are with full gas! A new release of BasiEgaXorz would be perfect. Cya! Tulio

Hi Tulio, nice to see you back! Sure, I don't mind. ;D Next time, I'll be more careful and use the PM feature of this board. Basically, I was asking Fonzie to provide details about his upcoming Megacart and telling him that my 32X project (Tyris) is in standby in order to concentrate on more important projects.
