it may be expensive, but when i go to buy something, i make sure its worth buying (like 5 mins after i install it it explodes) i dont go for rock bottom prices first, i start midrange and work my way around.

yea, gotta keep that in mind too if it's too cheap, it may be too good to be true =) eproms are getting rare now, and i think only sgs thomson (st) makes them now, so that's why they're high (if only one company makes them, who's to compete?)

i should build a time machine, go back in time with one i buy for like a buck here, and walk into a room of geeks and start brushing my hair with it, and watch half of them have a heart attack lol.

How much costs a 74xx TTL chip? I started today on Digital Circuits class, and got a lot of part numbers from logical door chips...

Digikey charges less than a buck (US) for the 74XX logic series (at least the HCT versions anyway). Pretty much the same story at this shopatex place. Don't know if there's a good vendor in your neck of the woods though.

i dont know many electronics stores that have good prices around here, but i can sure get a bargain with computer based stuff.
two PIII 1000's (my current webserver) cost me 10 bucks for each chip!
retail the things go for over $150
i dare you to find a better deal on brand new PIII 1000's!

are these Socket 370?
i need one of these for my computer, i HATE that damn Celeron 700!!!
I will install Fedora Core soon, so i need a new HD (i don't want to mess with partitions), more RAM (Fedora needs 256 for work fine), and maybe, a faster processor.
i start to hate my PCCHIPS M755... crap motherboard... just 2 PCI slots and no AGP!

radio shack also carries some, not every many, ttl logic chips (is radio shack is around your neighborhood). some stores carry more, some stores don't carry any at all, and if they do have them, they're gonna charge ya up the butt for them. i don't buy anything but pc boards from radio shack =), i get my ttl chips from jdr microdevices
