happy day today, i am the proud owner of 3 sega cd consoles =D. two of them are the later 1993 model that has the "playstation" style loader, and the other is the older one that has the cd tray. the guy i bought it from said they won't power up, so i checked the power on the ic's and there wasn't none. all 3 systems had fuses blown, so i jumped them =D (it'd suck though to have a fire)

you should reconfigure your Sega Beast™ to where it has the segacd added on to it. and i wouldnt worry about a sega cd bursting into flames, you should see some of the insane stuff i used to build

Do you played 3D games there? Or ripped a movie to DivX?
If not, get ready for KABOOM! I have a litte Celeron that goes HOT (it reaches 60º sometimes, but normally it runs at 55º, depending on the ambient temp)

LOL Gigabite. That reminds me of a buddy of mine who had a Computer-on-a-Stick(tm). He worked on a university campus' tech support department and got sick of pushing a cart loaded with parts all over campus, so he nailed(!) a power supply, MB, HDD, CD-ROM, etc to a 3 foot long 2x4 and carried it around with him to test components and/or ghost the HDD he carried with him... on the stick. Maybe later I'll tell you the one about the CPU that MELTED through the MB...

Maybe later I'll tell you the one about the CPU that MELTED through the MB... i believe it. modern cpus can get EXTREMELY hot. my friends athlon 3200 runs at 183 deg farenheight (bit too hot) mine runs at about 122 deg. i have smoked plenty of processors also. example: ati videocard, had 2 gpus on it, one for each video output. anyways the capacitor broke off on the top gpu and it got lost, so i found one that was almost the same uf (like 2 or 3 off) and the thing literally got so hot that the gpu started glowing orange, then cherry red, and thats when i yanked the power cord off the power supply. when i looked at the chip, the top of it was unrecognisable, it looked like it had lava bubbles in it that poped. kinda strange for only being 12 v DC X.x. in other news, the bottom portion of the card still worked XD
