Has anyone made a cartridge board so that new carts can be semi-mass produced? Or figured any existing Genesis carts that use dual 8-bit ROMs so the board can be re-used if the original ROMs are desoldered and removed?

hmm i don't think anyone has manufactured any pre-etched genesis pcb's yet. i was thinking about doing this and selling them out since companies can etch you pcb's for a very nice price because totek cards are a rip x.x, but i haven't taken take the chance yet =P.
there are no existing genesis carts that have dual 8 bit roms either, since most carts can be made more cheaper using 16-bit roms compared to two 8-bit roms
to attatch memory to a cart, you'll have to rip out the rom chip on the cartridge, and add a prepunched pcb holding the memory, and let the wires run directly to the cartridge where the old rom dip sat

I'm starting work on an EPROM board. I'm probably going to gear it towards using a pair of 27256, but I'll see about making it so it can easily accomodate larger EPROMs if you change a couple of jumpers. It'll fit in a standard case, and I'll put them in the Atariage.com store when they're done.

for small programming uses, 27512's are good enough, unless you wanna make some graphics intensive game =P. i think if you go up in size, people will start using these carts for playing their eproms from burned roms, your choice =)
atariage has some cool 2600 pcb's that i would have bought, but i could buy the games and rip the roms off and have the plastic case included, although i would need to mount another pcb for logic parts. also have a dozen original atari 2600 1979 pcb's that are unused too
