loadtiles BG,1120,128 - loads 1120 tiles from 128 to 1247. BY default BEX loads 256 font tiles from 0 to 255, starting at 128 is fine as this only overwrites part of the font tiles which are not needed for text. loadtiles exp_pht,216,256 - This will overwrite BG tiles so you would need to change "256" to "1248", but loading 216 tiles from 1248 to 1463 surpasses the 1344 tile address limit. If not using text you can start from 1... loadtiles BG,1120,1 loadtiles exp_pht,216,1121 Or Optimize your tile set and use a TileMap. Here is a quick example though I am newb and it may not be the proper way... TileMap.bex (119.61 KB) Notice how I assign palette 1,0,16 in slot 1 to the image with +palette(1) but did not need to assign palette 0. EDIT: Also to avoid confusion, In my example I'm using the drawtilesinc command drawtilesinc 545+palette(1),14,6,17,13 which can be replaced with... i=545 for y=6 to 18 for x=14 to 30 drawtile i+palette(1),x,y i++ next next

1344 tile address limit. Loading a tile in location 0 will give you a total of 1345, but will use the pattern in location 0 to tile a blank screen.

I'm using a technique created by myself allied with the same RetroGraphicsToolkit. So, I'm not understanding your code after 3 years and my current one I already saw it's pretty different. Well, thanks for the intention, anyway.
