I am making a Donkey Kong game, and I can't figure out how to make a character jump to a higher platform and have the character be exactly on top of the platform. I have tried coding it, but the character lands below, or above. I have mostly removed that part in the code that does it. pastebin.com/Jyuc0VX1

I'm not trying to be offensive, but many of the BEX games I've seen look like they were made for the Atari. I don't know if it is due to BEX having limited capabilities or the users themselves having some. I'm wondering if making a shooter like MUSHA would be feasible on BEX.

This is a very active community. Anyway, I figured out a way to patch the Japanese Alien Soldier rom so it works on American Genesises.

Alien Soldier never got released physically in the US and was only available to Americans through the Sega channel. I have a copy of a "complete rom set" for the Genesis/Mega Drive and noticed that it only contains the European and Japanese versions of the game. I've seen supposed US versions of the rom, and I question their legitimacy since I don't think anyone tried dumping a rom from the internal ram of the genesis (where Sega Channel games were temporarily stored). I also doubt the publisher Treasure would release the US rom anyway.
I'm asking this because I'd like to have the best possible version of Alien Soldier when I make a reproduction of it. I can't use the European version because it was optimized for 50hz. I guess I could use the Jap version, but it has a lot of broken English.

It would be neat if someone could hack the modem and allow the Genesis to surf the web. The final result would probably be worse than using Netscape Navigator lol.

BEX wasn't really designed for Ye Olde Pirates... but anyway, Have a read through Tursi"s Blog , it has detailed information on a multi-cart menu complete with BEX source. It's interesting. So what he did was solder two rom chips to a pcb each containing a rom? I'm sort of confuesd. I'm sort of a noob to retro gaming hardware hacking.

I noticed that BEX can compile genesis roms with files outside the script, and this can be done with gym audio files and bin picture files. This got me to thinking that maybe I could create a menu that could load genesis roms.
The reason I want to do this is because I plan on making a repro cartridge, and that the game I want to copy takes up about 1/4th space on the rom chip I plan on ordering, so why not cram another game on there? And yes, I know about flash carts. I just like having something that's permanent, and plus I like creating stuff.
