I'm here again with a new version of the demo. In this version I put 5 levels and a level select screen, because I wanted to try some things, for example the operation of locked doors that need keys. I have also added two more musics, the music playing on the selection screen, of course, does not come from wolfenstein, and music that sounds at levels 2 and 4 is the one heard on the first level of the SNES game, but in the pc version, according to the source, is only in the secret level of episode 6. I've started reading the source for active objects (enemies), perhaps in the next version will have some enemies, but is a bit complicated and maybe it will take me some time to do this. Here is the link to download: www.mediafire.com/download/8z883yuz2nyastt/wolf3ddemo_b3.rarMaybe something where the source folders are set up with a batch file that could recompile properly even if someone added different level data and sprites? I think it can be done.

This is pretty cool. Though I was never really a fan of Wolf 3D. I liked ROTT better, which is based on a heavily modified Wolf 3D engine.

how hard do you think it would be to make something like doom rpg 2 ? Now thats a game that has stood the test of time ... You should make something original, good chance to redeem the system with fps game brilliant work !!

New version of the rom available. In this version I've added several things, first I made the intro of the game with the music, also did the music for the menus, now you can finish a level (although there are only 5 levels, I have to draw some more textures for walls to add more levels), and most importantly: I added what would be the first test with enemies, but is only a test, it's just the standing guard, not moving, and you can not kill him. Still a lot to do, but at least I have what would be the main structure of active objects (enemies). This is the link to download it: www.mediafire.com/download/7ummfod039yaj6d/wolf3ddemo_b4.rar

New version available. I have already drawn textures necessary walls for the first 10 levels, and now the first episode is complete (although you can choose any level, but with a little trick), plus I have added selection of difficulty, because depending on the difficulty, level will have more or less enemies. Now you can kill the guards, even though they do not walk, it still needs a bit of code so they can walk. Although it seems that has not advanced much, but believe me it was a good amount of code I've added. Here is the link to download it: www.mediafire.com/download/x097zgbaz11ptxd/wolf3ddemo_b4e.rar

Here I am again with a new update of Wolf3D. In this version I added the guard on patrol mode, I've also fixed some minor bugs, for example, sometimes you could not grab the items when you were running. Now I just need the guard in chase mode, and will be finished (the obj. Guard). I have not done some optimizations already had in mind, because first I want to make the code for the enemies, and then when I already have all the enemies (at least for the first episode), then I'll do it. I do not know if anyone has found this little trick, but if you want to choose any level, you just have to keep the START button while pressing A, in the "options" screen in "new game" option. New version of rom available. In this version I've added all the music tracks that are in the 10 levels (6 music tracks), now the menus are nearly complete, you can enter the menu of options during the game by pressing Start + C and change what you want and return to the game by pressing B. For these days did not have much time, so I did nothing more, I took more time than I thought to do the songs. Here is the new version: www.mediafire.com/download/lbwpwho94k15xv3/wolf3ddemo_b5.5.rar

Hi I'm here again with a new update of the rom. Now all the movements of the guards are complete, shooting, walking, chasing, and can also kill the player, now it's a game!. I have also fixed some errors, for example in the animation of the weapon/hands, by mistake, skipped the frame1 (passed from frame 0 to 2), is now corrected. I also optimized a little sprite drawing routine, now is 38 cycles per column faster. Here is the new version: www.mediafire.com/download/j9a44zemqcrbtbz/wolf3ddemo_b6.rar

Hello, I've been working on the other enemies (by drawing), but meanwhile I will show a new version. I've added the option "Control" to select the type of control and configure, plus I made some changes here, first, to enter the menu, will now only the Start Button, and to configure the controls, these are the options: For Controller 3 buttons can only be assigned A, B, or C, to Run, Fire, or Open, Open will always be with Strafe, and Weapon will be Run + Start, ie, if Run is assigned to button A, then it will be A + Start, if assigned to the B button, then it will be B + Start, etc.. For the 6 button controller, you can assign A, B, C, X, Y, Z and M (mode) for any of the 5 actions: Run, Fire, Open, Strafe and Weapon. When you start the game will be in mode 3 buttons, I do not know if it would be better to automatically chose the 6-Button mode if present. Also added routines for "pallete shift", which is used when the player takes damage (shift to red) and when you grab an item (shift to white / yellow), I've also added the routine so that when the player dies, it turns to look at the attacker, I also corrected some errors. Here is the version 6.3: www.mediafire.com/download/9zgtyx495y2acxg/wolf3ddemo_b6.3.rar

There's a bug: open does not work with 6-button controller. This is strange, no one else has reported this to me. Are you sure about this? you tried it on an emulator or real hardware?, could be that the configuration of the buttons? because in 6-button mode can set separate open and strafe, unlike the 3-button mode. Well, but anyway this version had a bug (or maybe not the only one?), Apparently in the real hardware, when you try to activate the 6-buttons, the game crashed. I had already made a new version that corrected the error I mentioned, but I had forgotten to post it here, so here it is: www.mediafire.com/download/xc2v1ms728m0ka2/wolf3ddemo_b6.3b.rar

Which 6 button controller was used? I know my latest game doesn't work with the 6 button controller that has the turbo switches (I believe these controllers were bundled with the Sega CDX and possibly the Sega CD/another peripheral or later releases), but works fine with the standard 6 button without turbo switches.
Anyway, gasega68k, you're doing a fantastic job on the port!

Also the 6-button controller is not being detected on Kega Fusion Just was a mistake, is seen that the 6-button is detected only at start.

Well, you were right, this will happen when the control of 6-button mode is selected and when were selected: X, Y, or Z mode button to open, but it worked well with A, B, or C. Well it's fixed now, thanks for telling me this error. In a few days I'll be showing a new version with this and other bugs fixed, plus I've added dogs and SS (the "blue" guards), and other things.
