I'd agree. But the structure seems simple enough. I see a batch file for the compiler and .inc files for routine libraries. Replace the compiler and swap asm routines.

Replace the compiler and swap asm routines. If you throw the compiler and asm libraries away .. there's literally nothing left

Mmmmm... SNES Hope that you're using bsnes as the reference emulator. Also, how it's going that BEX compiler C++/C#/Java/whatever-but-VB rewrite? Using NO$SNS That emulator is actually what got me into this. Well it's because my laptop is 600MHz, so I'd like to develop on that . And great emulator, btw. I don't really like SNES9X much anymore And for BEX.... hmm... VB6? Hmm.... we're better off re-writing the compiler hehe . With optimized expression parser and everything hehe . I don't know what I would do with backward compatibility, eg [OR] [AND]. But is still a good compiler, even though is VB6. Once I get around to it . We need NO$MD

600mhz? Are you keeping that laptop for sentimental reasons? I can donate a 1.6ghz laptop if it'll help your development.

Someone PM'd me asking to try retro graphcis toolkit I told them Ok you can try it but first read this: I have some goals to add to this program that are not finished It still does not have proper NES tilemap support I am working on other stuff and also It does not have all the features that I want to add yet but here it is anyways I will make a proper release once it is done www.mediafire.com/download.php?i7sp6dqtdpy411eI though I would let everyone here try it but just keep in mind that I am still working on it but I thought maybe people here could provide feedback.

You get exhaustive tech docs... and having to pay $$ for the latest and greatest version, or wait 6 months ~ 2 years to get the previous one for free? Yeah... no. (Plus, being "only for Wintendo(tm)" doesn't fly exactly in the Macs and tablets age) But we seriously need a new Genesis emulator to hit the scene. Kega is now outdated and dead, I don't know whatever happened with Regen, Gens core is old and dusty (and despite being open source, the improvements have been kinda minimal in nearly 8 years...), and well, noone messes up with MESS

Yo.
My Sega Genesis projects have been put on the backburner while I finish one last Atari 2600 game and ramp up to Ouya. When I do start up again my thoughts are to go character based graphics like the Mattel Aquarius. With at least 1024 tiles and using the lower plane for background colors per character I should be able to simulate a 16 color text mode.

Still alive. Haven't touched my BEX workbench in years. In fact it's now mothballed into a old HDD, because I migrated all my stuff to Debian/Win7. Now everything here are endless backlogs of visual novels, indie games on Steam, doujin hardcore music, and from time to time, playing some random Sonic hack. ...and removing the dust from fancoolers that sound like they're going to do dubstep at any time
