this is something very random i stumbled upon while searching on google for overclocking sega stuff. okay get this: i found a thread on some mac forum where a person has claimed to have run macintosh os on a sega cd system. looking through the thread and the screenshots, its a total fake =D the link to the thread is here: www.spymac.com/forums/showthread.php?ppp=10&threadid=188647&sthreadid=&c=0it seems that the users on the forum are believing it all -> lol

haha stupid dude he is ... Too bad i can't register to this board... I would asked: -How do you display something since the genesis do not have any framebuffer? -How do you communicate between segacd and genesis?

you could probably get MacOS 7.1 or earlier to run on a genesis with a HEAVILY modified system file, and custom written drivers.
i cannot see the thread your referring to, but i dont believe its possible without rewriting a ton of the os code. and you would have a big problem with ram, system 7.1 needs at least 2 megs to boot, and the sega + the segacd probably dont break 256k.
the only thing that is the same between a mac and a genesis is the 68000, nothing else.
btw, the early macs dont use framebuffers i dont think, i think they write directly to the screen with some primitive gpu.

there was a frame buffer on the older macs (like mac 128k, 512k, plus, those black+white ones =P) that was stored in the shared main memory. in fact, they were also dual frame buffers =D so like how do i know this by heart ? i attempted to write my own os for my mac plus by replacing the old bios with a new one
