Yep, the old colors were the "burn my eyes" theme, this one looks much more readable, hehe. Excelent idea!

lol if you don't have your contrast up so high, the flashy colors won't burn your eyes =P

you should host your own website so there arent 4983256 popup ads or ads all over your page. www.apache.org - webserver www.mysql.com - mysql database for phpbb www.php.net - php for phpbb (get 4.3.x, 5.x dont support mysql and causes problems) www.cjb.net - redirect service so people dont have to type ip address to visit your site.

yea, sorry for the cheesy ads
i could go host the forums somewhere else, but i don't feel that a little support forum like this is worth anyones time and day to go spend money for hosting while it could be done for free with mofoboards =P. i never really planned on seeing an active community on here because there are 1000's of other boards with 100's of other members on that people could be on and be just as happy

Ads? Google AdSense does not hurt nobody, and in fact, it's a MUST for all serious websites. Popups? Firefox ate it ;D

google adsense? heh, money isn't an issue =P also, i totally will not put up commercial ads on any site i produce because getting paid to put up ads is a cheesy way to earn money
and omg, i just came up with this now: google adsense -> google nonsense i'm joking =P, i just had to say that because it rhymes, and i haven't heard of it yet =)

meh, what i was talking about is going out and getting like a 500 MHz AMD K6/2 with 256 megs of ram and windows 2000 putting it somewhere out of your way in your house, and let it be your fourm server. i run my forums from my house, but i have long since used a 500 MHz amd to host my forums. take a gander darksideserver.cjb.net/forums/index.php

i dunno, i don't like leaving my computers on all day
and also on topic =D, i ran a php server on a 486 100mhz with 24 megs of ram using a build of debian linux. uhm, all i can say that it ran "okay", but still very slow. it took 3 seconds for a php page to load from another computer within the intranetwork, so 500mhz is still good =)

my webserver is my old gameserver. specs Dual PIII 1000's (tulatin core, the server brand, not the desktop brand. difference is that tulatin has more l2 cache) 1024 MB pc133 sdram 200 GB western digital hard drive and a radeon 9600 php pages load in about half a second or less. the 500 MHz box would generate one in about 1.5 - 2.0 seconds

Leaving your PC 24/365 on has only one problem: POWER SUPPLY
->Power bills would be expensive in some states, unless you power your PC from an alternative energy source (gas, eolic energy, the sun, u238) ->In case of a power blackout, your PC may be damaged, even if you have an UPS (i lost my first motherboard with all their components in that way)

I have lost 3 routers, 1 cablemodem, 2 powersupplies, 1 hub, 3 nics and a motherboard to lightning. but span that over a period of about 7 years.
