You made a mistake by puting that Windows Media embed movie on your home page.... it freezes my browsers!!! Tested with Mozilla 1.7 and IE6 (yuck!), and both browsers freezes.

It worked fine for me, and I'm running IE on Windows 98 with 300 Mhz.

"It worked fine for me, and I'm running IE on Windows 98 with 300 Mhz." It worked fine for me too and i'm running IE/mozilla on windows 98 with 3Ghz ;D. I got the same problem when i removed the "TV/RADIO tcp/ip protocol" in the network settings.

i have a 1.2 ghz celeron. i read the specs and they do sound like they're not quite as good as something like a an athlon. i got one, and they're not actually that bad except lots of speed features (faster bus, larger cache) are chopped down which i don't mind. the only thing i use my computer for are the internet, development, and my mmorpg so i'm happy for a cheap computer =P

the old celerons are notorious for having missing instruction sets and have alot of the things that make games run well disabled or removed.
i had a celeron 466 and omg it was crap. i couldnt upgrade the video card because the board didnt like anything but an s3 virge agp. my amd K6/2 450 sprinted and bounded around that crap cpu.
dont know about you guys, but i wouldnt buy a celeron if it was the last cpu that ran windows on the planet. i would use one of the new Hitachi RISC that run around 400 MHz and pair them up like a 32x. then proceed to h4x own operating system that emulated x86 code.

Celeron 3rd generation are just P3's, but with only 64KB of L1 cache, and 66MHz system bus, making the system to run sometimes even worse than a K3-400. A P3 700 runs either at 100 or 133 MHz bus, with 128 built-in L1 cache. It's the same Coppermine core.
I don't know anything about newer Celerons (based on P4, i suppose)

i remember looking at the boxes of some of the older (~2 years) games, and they were like P3 or P4 and above, and no celeron =P
