anyone noticed how clean some Nintendo Entertainment System games are?
and that for a console that can only display 64 colours and runs on 1.79 mhz.
i mean. games like megaman 6, super mario bros 3, kirby, wario woods. look frightning good for a nes.
But what about the genesis? The genesis is probaly 7 times more powerfuller. Is there any games for it that are graphics wise very good looking?

68k is far faster than any other cpus (snes and nes) at same clock.
Here are games that CANT be done on a snes or nes assuming same software part: Vectorman Sonic2, Sonic3 ZeroTolerance Dune2 and all other special genesis made games....
Also: megaman 6, super mario bros 3, kirby, wario woods aren't complex games that require many cpu computering...
For sure, programmers always used programming tricks to make Snes/nes game port as great as genesis version (like dividing the framerate, removing some elements) but...

yea, nes and snes were always know for their programming tricks. the nes was different though, the vdp memory was connected directly to the cartridge, so there's a lot of room for tricks and shortcuts, but not flexibility (ram!). now, the snes has lots of ram, they made up for that lol

NES and SNES were famous to use extra chips to improve their games. NES was the number one of its epoch so all the good companies did great games for it while the market was splitted in the 16 bits era, meaning that most European and American companies support Genesis but most Japanese companies support SNES.

the snes was awesome. with the superfx chip, it was the bomb, there was mario kart, skyfox (or was it starfox?), stunt racing, mario rpg, and more.
the only thing sega put out for the sega genesis that gave programmers more tricks was virtua racing
