How to check if there is a SRAM cartridge or not? The Sega CD SRAM cart is basically an SRAM chip, some glue logic and a battery. If I remember correctly, the SRAM cart doesn't assert the CART_IN pin (either high or low, can't remember), which the Sega CD uses in conjunction with attempting to read from the address space of the cartridge.

Write a specific value and try to read it back. If it’s not what you set, SRAM isn’t there or you have a dead battery.
