So, I tried to merge two of my BEX games into one (Code Eliminator & Game Panic 2)
Thankfully both games use the same sound effects.
BUT when I add enough lines of code the compiler barfs. It seems to be related to the sound effect sample code like this:
BOOMpcm: INCBIN "C:\GP2\boom.raw" BOOMpcm_end: align 256
If I have too many other lines of code above these statements the compiler doesn't complete. I take out the samples and it compiles. I reduce the code above these lines and it compiles.
Any clue how to work around this? I'm at a loss. The games themselves are really small (in fact, I have versions that compile down to the 256k needed for SegaCD use)

This is a fun one.
Try the latest driver that requires the XGM call in the VBLANK instead of the z80 driver. My current project is over 12,000 lines of code and I'm not having any issues with it.

I'm being stupid and cannot find the topic with the new XGM v2 and how to use it in BEX. Also, I could have sworn tiberiyltim posted a potential answer in this topic and now it's GONE Thank you both!
